I moved to New Zealand 15 years ago. My husband and I have two lovely boys and our younger son is a student at UHPS.

We have been associated with UHPS for 7 years so far. We have seen our boys grow and learn so much at UHPS and I believe it is time to give back to the school.

I am a teacher by profession and understand the value of an enriched education environment for children. I want to help contribute to children’s love for learning and make a positive impact to their growing years.

I look forward to being a part of the Board and contributing positively to the UHPS community.

This is my second year on the Board of Trustees for UHPS. I now have my two children in Year 0 and Year 3. I really love the values of the school and the community that surrounds it.

My last year of experience has given me a great feel for the importance of the Board of this school. It really helps me to understand all the work that goes into running the school effectively under the great leadership of Sue and her team.

I’m an Operations Manager for one of Aotearoa’s big Telco’s and hope to bring my experience in process, automation, risk and financial management to support the school.

I look forward to working with the new Board and Sue and her team over the next three years.

Thank you for your vote. I am excited to be on the BOT again and looking forward to serving our community.

I came to New Zealand in 2004. Like most of our UHPS parents. I am a first-generation migrant. I have two lovely children, and both are at Upper Harbour Primary School.

The biggest challenge for me when my children started school was how they were going to fit into the school and how I could help my children to curry on our traditional culture. The school has given my children great support and helped them settle so well. The whole family enjoyed the activities the school organised.

My background is in communication and working in a large organisation. I love working in a team and am always willing to help others. I am looking forward to supporting the school and our community and excited to work with the new team.

This is my 11th year at Upper Harbour.  I have experienced what it’s like to be a parent here, as both of my girls went through UHPS, and as teacher in differing roles.  For the past 6 years I have been leading the ESOL team and I have seen many changes during this time.

I look forward to being on the Board and representing our staff. It will be enriching to learn more about how our school is governed and being involved in making plans for our school community moving forward.

Our staff are an amazing group of dedicated teachers, who work tirelessly to provide the best opportunities for our students. I’m excited to be part of this journey.

My daughters are within year’s 2 and 4 at UHPS and have loved the school since starting.  Both girls have embraced the school values and introduced them to brand new experiences with my eldest, now enjoying her netball, something I never thought would happen. The school has helped them settle into a new country since we relocated from the United Arab Emirates and the girls have made some wonderful friends.

I am director in a large engineering consultancy and am hoping my experiences in project and financial management to support the growth and development of the school over the next three years.

I am really looking forward to being on the board and excited to put back back into the community when they have supported us so much.

My daughter started at Upper Harbour Primary in 2019 and from day one, she has enjoyed every aspect of school. My husband (Greg) and I moved into the area nine years ago and now that Harper is in year 3, our fingers are crossed that the next three years are not inhibited by lockdowns and pandemics!

I work in Early Childhood Education and I am passionate about strengthening the connection between early childhood and school. I believe that strong foundations prepare children for a lifelong love of learning, resilience and emotional well being.

The culture of the school is evident from the moment you enter the grounds and we love the fact that our Kiwi culture is reflected in the school's values.  The school has been a big part of our families life over the past few years and I am looking forward to supporting the school in whatever way I can.

With the help of our community and Board of Trustees, we created a brand new charter with a vision we could all remember and use every day.

At Upper Harbour Primary School we strive to create an inclusive environment that recognises that all students will learn in an individual way.  We welcome every child as part of our community recognising they all bring unique qualities and should be valued for who they are.  We support those students with additional learning needs as well as aiming to challenge and engage gifted and talented students by creating an educational environment that is responsive to the needs of all.

The Education Review Office (ERO) evaluates and reports on the education and care of children and young people in early childhood services and schools.

ERO visited Upper Harbour Primary School in June 2016.  Their report can be viewed by clicking here.
